What is AI Dev?
AI Dev is the developer conference series run by DeepLearning.AI, the AI education company co-founded by Andrew Ng. The official page describes it as “a technical conference for people building with AI” and promises that you will “learn from real practitioners, plan your tech stack, and apply your new skills to your own builds.” According to the organizers, the past three editions in New York and San Francisco sold out and together drew 6,000+ developers across 100+ sessions. The page also points to DeepLearning.AI’s 7M+ learners.
The tone is set by an Andrew Ng line from The Batch (14 August 2026), quoted on the event page: “Using agentic coding effectively is now a key skill for every developer.” Expect a room of people who ship code, not a business or investor crowd.
Why go if you build AI agents
Most of the technical sessions announced so far are about agents. The session list on the official page covers agent harnesses, persistent memory, repository context for coding agents, browser automation, agent system architecture and production reliability, plus GraphRAG, code quality and synthetic data for open LLMs. Each session is tagged with a level from Beginner to Expert, which makes it easy to plan a track that fits you.
If you already use agentic coding tools at work, the sessions on code quality, security and repository context speak directly to the problems teams hit once AI writes a large share of the code. If you are newer to agents, start with the Beginner and Intermediate sessions and the keynotes.

- Pro or Standard? The only difference listed is the year of DeepLearning.AI Pro. Pick Pro only if you planned to buy that anyway.
How to get to Chelsea Piers
Chelsea Piers is a waterfront complex on Manhattan’s Hudson River, between 17th and 23rd Streets, according to Chelsea Piers’ visitor page. The venue’s own directions:
- Subway and bus: take the 1, 6, C, E, F, M, R or W train to 23rd St, then the M23 bus to its last stop. The M14D and M12 buses stop about a 5-minute walk away.
- On foot: enter from the Hudson River Park path or cross the West Side Highway at 22nd, 20th or 18th St.
- Taxi or ride share: drivers get 20 minutes of free access for drop-off and pick-up.
- Car: enter off the West Side Highway at 23rd St; paid parking is on Piers 59 to 61.
Coming from abroad? New York is served by JFK, Newark and LaGuardia airports. Check visa or ESTA rules early. Late November and early December can be cold on the river, so bring a warm layer.
Tips before you book
- Bring a laptop. Several sessions are hands-on (Joel Niklaus’s agent-harness session is a two-part workshop), and all passes include workshops.
- Match the levels. Sessions are tagged Beginner to Expert; plan your two days around the levels that fit you.
- Need your manager’s OK? Point to the agenda: agent reliability, code quality and memory are problems most AI teams have right now.
- Coming with colleagues? Email the organizers about team tickets before buying single passes.
- Watch last year first. The official page links talks from earlier AI Dev events in NYC and San Francisco, including Andrew Ng’s keynote on the future of software engineering.
